Let’s enhance your natural lips.

LIP BLUSH &
DARK LIP NEUTRALIZATION

What is Lip Blushing?

Lip Blush is a permanent makeup procedure that naturally enhances the color of the lips. This gives the lips more symmetry, a healthier appearance, and a defined shape to the lips. With the help of this treatment, it is possible to correct the fading color of lips that is always associated with aging. Results are customized for every client, therefore, you can be sure to achieve the desired effect. Bring in your favorite lipstick or a picture on the day of your appointment! Please check the FAQ, pre, and post-care to see if you are a candidate for this procedure.

Please note this does not add volume only color. The shape can not exceed 2mm of the natural lip.

This is a 3-4 hour procedure, takes 7-10 days to heal, and lasts up to 1-3 + years

On the appointment date, we will consult about shape and color before we start the tattoo. Tattooing will not start until the final design is drawn for you and agreed on

  • Immediately After:

Your lips will feel tight, dry. and sore. Moisturize with the provided ointment as needed. There may be some swelling and minor bruising that only lasts for 1-2 days.

The colour will appear bright and bold. The next day, the color of the tattoo will darken as scabs begin to form, there may still be some swelling or minor bruising

The scab will fall off within 3-10 days depending on your skin and the procedure you had done

Drink liquids through a straw and stay away from spicy and citrusy foods for 7 days.

    The day of treatment:

Fluids will leak from the tattoo to form scabs. You will want to pat the area dry to ensure no fluids sit and form scabs. You may ice the skin if it is feeling tender or swollen after the procedure. Wrap an ice pack or a ziplock of ice in a napkin and place on the area for as long as desired.

    Day 2-10

Do not touch your tattoo with dirty fingers, remember it is an opened and healing wound. An infection could possibly ruin the tattoo.

Don't get your tattoo too wet for too long. It will make the scabs soggy and easier to fall off prematurely. Remember, you want to keep the scabs on for as long as you can, let them fall off naturally.

Do not sleep on your face to avoid lifting your scabs prematurely and make sure you’re sleeping on a clean pillowcase to avoid infection.

Don’t pick, scratch or bite off the scabs. Let the scabs fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring, loss of pigment, or an infection.

Do not expose your tattoo to UV rays or tanning beds for 4 weeks after the procedure. These things can alter the appearance of your tattoo dramatically.

Do not sweat on the tattoo until all the scabs have come off naturally. Sweat will take the pigment from your tattoo. If you do sweat on them, dab it off immediately.

Do not get any facials, Botox, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks post appointment date.

    After Scabbing Phase:

Once the scabs have completely fallen off, you may apply makeup over the area and return back to your normal routine. The complete healing process takes 4-6 weeks. At 4-6 weeks the true and final color of the tattoo will show. It is only after 4-6 weeks that a touchup to the tattoo can be done.

Please note that your tattoo will be softer and not as crisp when healed.

Note that results will vary with each individual and are extremely dependant on your skin and how you care for it during healing. It may take more than one session to achieve your desired result.

    Once Fully Healed:

We recommend wearing sunscreen as the UV rays will deteriorate the pigment and lighten or fade the tattoo faster as well.

If you are having any laser or facial beauty treatments please inform your technician before procedures that you have a permanent makeup tattoo.

This treatment does fade after 1-3 years depending on your skin and lifestyle. Touch-ups are necessary to maintain the longevity and overall beauty of your tattoo. If you have oily skin, an iron deficiency, or a very strong immune system, your pigment will not last as long and will not heal as crisp as others.

Coverup works may need additional appointments to have better results as it is possible that the "coverup" tattoo may not completely cover the old one.

  • How do they look healed?
Please keep in mind whether choosing a natural colour or a bold colour, the final results always look bright and bold at first but will heal 40-50% lighter in the next 5-7 days
They also look swollen right when they are done. Swelling will go down in 2-3 days.

    HOW CAN I BOOK?
Booking is done through this website through the "Book Now" page. You can also contact us at (780)-680-8588.

    DOES IT HURT?
It is slightly uncomfortable but completely bearable. Minh uses numbing and her technique is extremely gentle. If you are nervous about pain, you may take 1-2 Tylenol 30 minutes before your appointment. DO NOT take Advil or drink a coffee before your appointment. Coffee and Advil will cause you to bleed lots and also make you more sensitive during the procedure.

CAN I GET LIP BLUSH IF I HAVE DARK/COOL TONED LIPS?
Yes, however, on the first session we will have to color correct your lips to cancel out the cool tones. This means the initial color we tattoo MUST be orange! If we are to tattoo any other color you risk darkening your lips further or having absolutely no results at all.
When healed at 6 weeks, most if not all of the darkness in your lips will be covered and your lips will have an even tone. Note that results cannot be guaranteed and lightening or evening out dark lips may take a few sessions. Under no circumstances will Minh tattoo a "NUDE" color on dark or cool toned lips. If you are unsure if you have dark or cool toned lips you can send Minh a picture of your lips in natural light to confirm. Lips too dark or thick will be rejected so please be sure to email pictures if your lips are extremely dark grey or black in color.

    DO I NEED A TOUCHUP?
Touchups are recommended for everybody. On touchup sessions, we can alter the shape and color of your tattoo or go bolder or fill in spots that didn't retain pigment as well as others during healing. Touchups will also add longevity to the life of your tattoo. A Touchup can be booked no sooner than 4 weeks after your last appointment.

CAN I STILL GET LIP BLUSH IF I HAVE LIP FILLER?

Yes! In no way does having Lip filler interfere with the process of tattooing lips or the results. Note that lip filler and lip blush appointments MUST be at least 4 weeks apart from each other.

DOES THIS PROCEDURE TRIGGER COLD SORES?
This procedure can trigger cold sores for carriers of the herpes simplex virus. To prevent cold sores from flaring up it is recommended to go to your family doctor and get Zovirax or another antiviral medication prescribed to take 5 days prior procedure, the day of, and 5 days after. Note that a cold sore outbreak can alter the healed results of the tattoo

FOR LIP BLUSH CAN WE GO OUTSIDE THE LIPLINE?
Yes, only 2mm. The skin on the lips is not the same as on the face and things can look unnatural or get unpredictable when we tattoo too far outside the natural lipline.
